The truck-building sector has obtained spectacular results in its efforts to reduce diesel engine exhaust emissions. Since the introduction of the European regulations in 1990, emission levels have been cut by 5 to 20 times for a variety of substances, with more than 70 % for NOx, and more than 90 % for particles. In order to ensure that its engines comply with the latest standards without degrading performance while at the same time offering even better fuel efficiency, Renault Trucks has opted to implement a technology known as SCR (Selective Catalyst Reduction). Now, faced with the global challenge of climate change and the implication of CO2 emissions, Renault Trucks continues to develop ever more fuel efficient solutions as well as offer alternative drivelines ( hybrid, full electric or CNG vehicles, optimized diesel engines, eco-driving training, on-board monitoring software). |
